The Gunston School has made significant progress in Systemic Sustainability since becoming certified as a Green School in 2011. Curriculum integration has increased to include all disciplines and all grade levels. The Bay Studies program has entered its third decade with renewed focus and vision. The program has been aligned to best practices for MWEE’s and field based environmental education experiences. Gunston’s annual Earth Day Celebration remains a robust day of hands-on activities and intellectual conversations that help the community appreciate our role as environmental stewards. The school also serves as a host site for the Corsica River Conservancy's annual meeting.
Gunston’s Strategic Planning Process was completed in 2014 and will serve as a very important road map for our continued growth as a Green School. Significant building renovations have also occurred, spurred on by our Second Century Campaign, which are highlighted in our School Wide Environmental Behavior Changes.
